What do we all like to do on the New Year’s Eve? Of course to plan our future and also to sum up the results of the previous year. Following the tradition, we would like to share with you what was the year 2017 like for HashCoins and its major projects — HashFlare and Polybius. Perhaps a glimpse into the past will tell what to expect from 2018. And now we pass the word to the representatives of the projects! HashFlare 2017 was vibrant. The wave of interest towards cryptocurrencies and mining has risen unexpectedly and has washed out everything on its path — only the most persistent could withstand. Fortunately, HashFlare is one of those projects that managed to cope with exponentially growing interest towards cryptocurrencies. Yes, despite some difficulties we’ve faced (could it be otherwise?), 2017 was successful: This year number of our users has doubled. We have expanded our technical support staff — the number of people in this division has grown (at the begi

Late December brought yet another gift for the cryptocurrency market crowd: a new altcoin with a pretentious name, Bitcoin God. The new cryptocurrency is a hard fork that had been announced a few weeks earlier. Bitcoin God originated from the Bitcoin blockchain at block 501 225. The man behind the latest hard fork is Chandler Guo, a Chinese businessman whose company describes itself as a “non-profit P2P organization.” Here are  some of the advantages of GOD  (short for “Bitcoin God”) as outlined by Guo himself: smart contract and Lightning Network support, large block size, Proof-of-Stake mining, and extra confidentiality protection thanks to Zero-Knowledge Proof technology. According to the project’s website, the number of new altcoins is limited to 21 million. 17 million of them will remain in bitcoin holders’ wallets while the remaining 4 million cryptocoins will be donated to charitable causes. For this purpose, users are encouraged to share their wallet addresses on t

Some have been able to make a fortune, while others have lost everything. It is these lucky and unlucky players who will be discussed today. Anonymous bitcoin-millionaire Some success stories about making a fortune on the crypto market are published by anonymous users on Reddit and Steemit. One such anonymous user  told about his purchase  of 12,000 bitcoins in 2010. He did not waste them on pizza  like a programmer named Laszlo did  in 2010, which is still remembered on different resources. For a few years, he simply forgot about his purchase: he had heard something about the price of bitcoin rising to $100 per c

In December 2017, every other question on our Facebook page had to do with the same topic: technical support. No matter what was the subject of our status update, the same questions were asked: “What’s going on with tech support?”, “Why aren’t they responding to my ticket?”, “Come on, respond to my ticket number 123456 already, please, please!” Of course, we responded. Perhaps we did not respond promptly enough to quell the wave of comments related to support tickets, but we did our best, and we will keep doing our best. On the other hand, there is a silver lining: if you see questions such as “Guys, where is your tech support?” fifty times in one day, you have nothing left to do but respond right away, and to everyone at once. We do have technical support, and it is among the best in the world. Here is why. Our support is backbreaking work Support’s main task is, quite obviously, solving problems encountered by users and working for the betterment of the service p
